Unimpeachable precedent

Talib Kweli has been at the forefront of the underground hip-hop scene for more than a decade at this point. The Brooklyn MC first made waves with Black Star, a Mos Def collab that became the new gold standard for aspiring true-school MCs. Soon after, Kweli teamed up with DJ Hi-Tek for a stellar album under the moniker Reflection Eternal. Ten years later, they’re at it again. The new album, Revolutions Per Minute, boasts a number of luminary contributors, including Jay Electronica, Bun B and Estelle, and continues Kweli’s run of unimpeachable output. It’s aware, but not sanctimonious, and fun, but not the Black Eyed Peas.
