Phillies sign every pitcher in baseball, Braves have sandcastle destroyed by local bully

The Braves wait for another division title may have just gotten longer with the Phillies addition of Cliff Lee.

One strong arm can make all the difference in a pennant race. The Philadelphia Phillies, apparently, want all of them.

Cliff Lee rejoined the Braves division rival Monday night after signing a five-year deal reportedly worth around $120 million. Lee, who was electric this postseason for the American League champion Texas Rangers, turned down an offer from the Yankees to make a return trip the National League East.

Lee joins a pitching staff that includes Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels, or as we’re calling it “Super Friends.” The role of Aquaman will be played by Joe Blanton as he’s basically now useless.

If you were impressed with the haul of superstars the Miami Heat were able to corral in the offseason, consider this even greater. Only Chris Paul also landing in South Beach could compare. That’s the magnitude of what the Phillies have been able to put together.
