The second annual National Collegiate Tailgating Championship took place in a parking lot on Ivan Allen Jr Boulevard just a ways from the Georgia Dome. This year bought out tailgate members who support the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, University of South Carolina, Texas A&M, the University of North Carolina, and the University of West Georgia. Each team/family entered in various categories to expose their love and support of their favorite college teams as well as for a chance to win prizes.

On Saturday, another Trayvon Martin rally was held in downtown Atlanta, this one brought thousands of people to the Richard B. Russell Federal Building on Spring Street. Vietnam veteran Freamon Dixson, waved an upside down American flag during the rally. "The country is in distress," Dixson said.
