The nominations for the 2014 Association of Food Journalists awards are out and Creative Loafing made the cut! Our biannual 100 Dishes issue has made it to the final three for Best Food Multimedia Presentation. This year we overhauled the web and mobile presentations for integration with Foursquare, which created a custom 100 Dishes badge specifically for us. In addition to our picks, we created 100 individual Foursquare tips, elevating the package from a story to a call to action. It gives the content a game-like feel, encouraging readers to tackle the entire list, check off the dishes as they go, and easily share over social media. The streamlined, location-based execution on our mobile site makes 100 Dishes a good-looking and functional tool for exploring Atlanta.

100 Dishes is a huge collaborative project by the entire CL staff - writers, editors, online smarties, freelancers, and photographers. We are honored to be included as nominees for such a prestigious food journalism award. Winners will be announced Sept. 11 at AFJ’s annual conference in Memphis.
