First Slice 2-23-12: OTP face-stabbing and GOP finale
- Joeff Davis
- State House Speaker David Ralston
1. Cobb bus driver gets stabbed in the face trying to break up a fight over seats, then gets suspended for not following protocol. It's a jungle up there, folks.
2. Republicans hold their final scheduled debate of the primary season Wednesday night in Mesa, Ariz. And you thought these things would never end. Um, actually, unless the next round of voting yields an obvious winner, more debates are likely.
3. State House Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, appears to have thrown his weight behind a bill to further restrict the window of time for legal abortions in Georgia from 26 weeks to 20 weeks. Earlier this week, a bill to extend discrimination protections to gays and those with a different gender identity was effectively killed after an opponent argued the bill would protect pedophiles and necrophiliacs. Isn't the 21st century great?
