First Slice 3-15-12: Remember the Gulch!

Train terminal developers hold kick-off meeting

Residents Learn More About Gulch Project: MyFoxATLANTA.com

1. Developers of Atlanta’s proposed downtown train terminal last night held the project’s kick-off meeting at the Georgia-Pacific building. If built, the transportation hub would accommodate everything from buses to high-speed rail and spark the development of 120 surrounding acres, some of which could be created by capping the railyard and parking lot known as “the Gulch.” Who wants to tell these fine folks that high-speed rail is a plot by the socialists to eat our lawns and will therefore never happen?

2. An Atlanta Public Schools teacher implicated in the depressing cheating scandal was fired yesterday by a tribunal. Two more teachers are expected to appear in front of the tribunal today.

3. What oh what should we do with an antiquated, enclosed shopping mall in Gwinnett County?

4. ICYMI: Yesterday was not a good day here at CL.
