Georgia U.S. Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson won’t join other Republican congressmen in a filibuster against a potential gun control bill. Both have said they favor an up-or-down vote even though they would vote against the plan.

An Atlanta Police officer dismissed in 2009 after allegedly lying about a raid at a Midtown gay bar has been reinstated. A Fulton County Superior Court ruled that there wasn’t enough evidence to uphold his firing from the now-disbanded Red Dog Unit.

After the AJC initially reported that former Falcons tight end Greg McCrary had died, Jim Romenesko pointed out that the newspaper changed its story to show that he was actually in poor health.

Tyler Perry says that he’s about to start a “huge expansion” on his southwest Atlanta studio complex.

Emory University students have created “no confidence” T-shirts to protest embattled president James Wagner. “Oh, I didn’t know about those,” Wagner reportedly said to one graduate student. An online faculty vote of confidence continues throughout this week.
