First Slice 4-28-13: So long, Family Dollar. Hello, park

Plus, God bless Chatsworth

Here’s a novel way to stop yet another Family Dollar from opening in southwest Atlanta: create a park where the discount store was planned.

There is a movie waiting to be made about the small northwest Georgia city of Chatsworth, where a former magistrate judge is accused of sexual harassing three women and being linked to a traffic stop that involved sheriffs allegedly planting drugs. The judge denies the accusations.

Beware the Cherokee County flasher!

Some of the jokes at last night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, the annual, kind-of-icky schmooze-fest where journalists, celebrities, and politicians rub elbows, were actually funny.

Georgia’s not the only state where government Jobs go to the governor’s allies and cronies.
