First Slice 7/18/12: Xenu prevails in Sandy Springs

And, please stop wearing flip-flops

1. The Sandy Springs City Council voted yesterday to approve the expansion of a local Scientology center. 2. A hunger strike that had supposedly ended is reported to still be in progress at the Georgia Diagnostic & Classification Prison in Butts County.

3. A man who was shot in the chest inside the Subway near the Mall West End in Southwest Atlanta yesterday has succumbed to his injuries. Police are still looking for the gunman.
