Ed Loves Bacon - CoCo picks TBS as his new nighttime gig.

I guess its official now that I’ve read the press release - Conan O’Brien’s new late night show will be on TBS. According to a statement released today, O’brien will host a late night talk show starting in November. Here’s what the release said about the decision:

O’Brien began talks in earnest with TBS just last week, after George Lopez personally called him to ask that he consider joining the network’s late-night line-up.  “I can’t think of anything better than doing my show with Conan as my lead-in,” Lopez said.  “It’s the beginning of a new era in late-night comedy.”

Said O’Brien: “In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable.  My plan is working perfectly.”

TBS plans to move O’Brien’s show into the 11pm time slot currently held by Lopez Tonight. Lopez’s show will move to a midnight time slot. No details were revealed about the show format but I wouldn’t be surprised to see glimpses of Conan’s past on the new network.

CoCo is currently on tour with his “Legally Prohibited from Being on Television” which kicks off tonight in Eugene, Ore.
