New barbecue in Grant Park
Open in Grant Park: In the former Just Loaf’n’ building, Bucc’s BBQ (313 Boulevard, 404-736-6197). Thrillist has the scoop:
Bucc’s is run by the family of slain ATL rapper Dolla, about whom you really shouldn’t ask “Who The F**k Is That??”, at least when you’re inside. Dolla’s mom & sis prep sides like corn nuggets, veggie baked beans, and turkey-stewed collards every morning, and meat’s marinated for 24 hours before hittin’ the grill at 7AM; get two-sided plates like dry or sauced beef rib tips, chicken wings, or brisket, which they say has “turned some pork eaters into beef eaters”....
Spotted: Top Chef contestant Kevin Gillespie of Woodfire Grill, Wednesday night at the Shed on Glenwood for $3 slider night. Among newbies on the menu last night was one featuring white anchovies — a stretch even for me.
