New website lets you check health department ratings
WSB TV ran a piece yesterday about the Georgia Department of Community Health’s new website that provides inspection results of nearly every restaurant in the state.
Tim Callahan of the Department of Health said this to WSB:
Restaurant inspections are only a snapshot of how a restaurant does on a particular day, but customers should also be aware of how the restaurant does over time.
Previous scores are also shown on the web site, and you can check out where a restaurant needs improvement....
For example was the food kept at the proper temperatures? Did employees wash their hands? Are surfaces cleaned and sanitized?
