Downtown for an appointment this morning, I breakfasted at BLT Steak in the W Hotel near Centennial Park. Modern, masculine room (browns, tans, taupes, creams), swift and elegant service, delicious food: “W” eggs — perfectly poached on wilted spinach, crab meat and a biscuit, topped with cayenne-lemon hollandaise, and plated with broiled tomato, crisp home fries and a small baby-greens salad.

Elliott is busy these days promoting his new novel, Hot off the Presses.

Elliott and Melissa Libby also linked to her photo of the apparently new Creole Pork Burger (show here) at Yeah! Burger...

Melissa also recommends the Taste and Tour of Cheshire Bridge this weekend. Conspicuously missing from the lineup of restaurants is Taqueria del Sol, but they’re forgiven. The restaurant on Howell Mill is hosting its all-you-can-eat feast of dishes made with Hatch chiles, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $12....

Finally, Nathalie Dupree instructs us on the making of hummus on her latest video on the Charleston Post and Courier site:
