We visited The Glenwood in East Atlanta Village last night. The popular pub closed months ago because of financial problems but reopened about a week ago. There are definite changes.

Appearance wise, the space looks much better. The wall between the main bar and the bar in the large adjoining dining room, barely used by diners despite its non-smoking rule, has been knocked out. The large crowd Sunday night was much more spread out. This has made the smoke less overwhelming.

When the Glenwood opened, it featured quirky, gourmet food that earned it broad recognition as one of the city’s best gastro pubs. That has changed, at least for time being. The vast majority of the lengthy menu is the usual bar food — burgers, nachos, fried pickles, hummus and a few entrees.

Check “Grazing” later this week for a bit more about The Glenwood.

Oh...Speaking of East Atlanta Village, I hauled my friends to Holy Taco Friday night. Everyone enjoyed their food...except me. I don’t know why I ordered chicken enchiladas. They are my least favorite Mexican food. I just keep hoping to encounter one I like.

We stopped by the new Morelli’s in Edgewood Retail District on the way home. Pecan praline and dulce de leche go together well.
