Omnivore - Figs of the week

A visit to Cibo & Beve

My fig-o-philia was fed big-time last night at Cibo & Beve, a new Italian spot out Roswell Road. The restaurant halves the figs, stuffs them with a bit of gorgonzola, wraps them in prosciutto and then grills them. It’s absolutely the best fig dish I’ve encountered this summer, mainly for the intense flavor of the figs themselves.

Cibo & Beve is part of the 101 Concepts group, the people who also own Food 101 in the same strip mall. The chef is Linda Harrell.

We had a generally excellent dinner including hamachi crudo and a lamb shank braised with orange and fennel. I’ll be writing more in “Grazing” this week. In the meantime, go try the figs.
