Gunshow Mon., Jan. 20 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Rodney Scott's Whole-hog Barbecue South Carolina's slow cooker Rodney Scott will be serving barbecue from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This barbecue sandwich celebration will benefit the Fatback Fund, which provides chefs, restaurateurs, and writers funds during imperiled times. Being served are $5 pulled pork sandwiches and $10 boxes including slaw, baked beans, and tea. Starting at 7 p.m., Chef Kevin Gillespie and Angie Mosier, an Atlanta food stylist, will be joining Rodney Scott to host a dinner featuring four courses with curated cocktails. Details


Historic Roswell Tues., Jan. 21-Feb. 1 3rd Annual Roswell Restaurant Week The two-week promotion will showcase the cuisine of the area's restaurants that each will offer a special, prix-fixe or discounted menu option. The event will fuse international and local flavors and ingredients while encouraging diners to explore, eat, and enjoy in Roswell's Historic District. Details

The Argosy Jan. 21, 6-9 p.m. Terrapin Wake and Bake Off The Argosy will be hosting Atlanta's first annual event to celebrate the release of Terrapin's Wake n' Bake Imperial Oatmeal Coffee Stout and local baked goods. The proceeds for the event will benefit the Giving Kitchen, an initiative supporting the Atlanta restaurant community by lending a helping hand to industry members impacted by extreme hardship. $20 Details


Savor Wine Boutique Thurs., Jan. 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Meet the Local Winemaker Kirkwood's new Savor Wine Boutique hosts its first Meet the Winemaker Event where guests may purchase signed copies of The Second Bud by Martha Ezzard, co-owner of Tiger Mountain Vineyards, and sample an assortment of wines made from 100 percent Georgia-grown grapes. King Plow Sun., Jan. 26, 4-8 p.m. Team Hidi 2.0 King Plow will host more than 30 restaurants from the Atlanta area providing food, drinks, a live auction, and live music from Yacht Rock Revue for Team Hidi 2.0 and the celebration of Chef Ryan Hidinger's life, which included his influence at Bacchanalia, the Staplehouse supper club, and other Atlanta restaurants. The event is sold out, but a waiting list is available and donations can still be received. Ticket price is $150 with all proceeds going towards the Giving Kitchen, an organization that supports people in the restaurant community affected by emergencies or other hardships. Details

Preserving Place Sun., Jan. 26, 1 p.m. Canning 101 Class Preserving Place is hosting a Canning 101 class for beginner canners. For $95, attendees will learn the art of canning and are able to take home a jar of each of what was made in the class. The goal of this class is for participants to leave with the confidence that they are able to can safely on their own at home. Details
