An alum of Birmingham, Alabama’s Ollie Irene, recent Atlanta transplant Brian Zirbes and frequent We Suki Suki taco maker Alex Young launched a Friday-evening pop-up dinner series at the EAV sandwich shop. Visitors will pay $7 for half each of two “underdog” sandwiches - comprising a Chicago-style Italian beef and Philly-style pork sandwich.

Jake’s Ice Cream founder Jake Rothschild has crafted a new culinary venture, Atlanta Supper Club, in tandem with Peachtree Estate Sales’ Kimy Kennedy and Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Atlanta. Launching in March, it will showcase the talents of Irwin Street Market’s Sandy Houdeshell and Tony Campolo, as well as Hilda’s founder Carlton Brown, at locations such as Irwin Street Market, Le Cordon Bleu, Sweet Selma Farms, and restaurants around the city. Attendees can sign up to attend via a Meetup group targeted at diners age 35 and up.

Local culinary personality David Zboray has launched Kindling, a new pop-up venture that made its debut last week with a five-course dinner at the Porter Beer Bar. Additional dinners will follow; like the Facebook fan page for details on upcoming events.

In case you missed it, Villains Wicked Heroes recently launched its new Monday night pop-up series. Each month, the Midtown restaurant will play host to a new chef with a new menu and theme.

February hosted PR 184 by former Cruzado chef Carlos Collazo. Inspired by traditional street food found on Puerto Rico Highway 184, which is known by many as the “Pork Highway.” In March, Villains will change gears with a Paleo pop-up featuring the authors of the Paleo Comfort Foods cookbook, chefs Charles and Julie Mayfield.
