BuzzFeed wants you to know the right way to hold chopsticks, and they’ve shared 19 unconventional pizza recipes — “because beautiful things really do come in all shapes and sizes” — including pepperoni pizza monkey bread and parmesan pizza grilled cheese.

Junk Food’s chef Joey Zelinka is starting another pop-up at Joystick Gamebar (427 Edgewood Ave., S.E.). This time, Zelinka is serving up Polish dumplings. Starting Tues., June 30, Monday through Thursday, guests can get traditional, oxtail and potato, and seasonal vegetable pierogi with their choice of sauce. On opening day, the first 100 customers get two free pierogi of their choice! Just walk up to Joystick’s back door from noon-2 p.m. and ring Babcia’s Big Bell.


The FDA might put a ban on your favorite food group this summer. After years of warning, it looks like trans fats, such as partially hydrogenated oils, will finally be branded a food that is not “generally safe,” the New York Post reported. The change could come as early as June 15.

Move over, Kian Abedini. Catapult is serving up marijuana-infused coffee that will make your midday pick-me-up a little more interesting. The coffee isn’t meant to replace the kind you sip on your way to work, Fairwinds Manufacturing founder James Hull told Forbes, since drinkers would be legally impaired. For now, the drink is only available in Washington, but changing marijuana laws may present a larger market in the near future.

In case you missed it: Spanish restaurant El Celler de Can Roca topped S. Pellegrino’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. This is the second time the brothers took the prize, first taking No. 1 in 2013. Six American restaurants made the list with only one breaking the top 10: Daniel Humm’s Eleven Madison Park.
