Revival Sat., Oct. 24, noon-3 p.m. Bacon Explosion Atlanta chef, restaurateur, speaker and cookbook author Kevin Gillespie is teaming up with BBQ Addicts’ Jason Day to pay respect to the pig with a Bacon Explosion event at Gillespie’s newest restaurant, Revival. Guests can savor the bacon-wrapped, bacon-stuffed barbecue sausage dish that puts all others to shame. The porcine party will take place on Revival’s front porch and in the Decatur restaurant’s front yard, where Day will be cooking the original version of his infamous Bacon Explosion. Details.

? Petite Auberge Sat., Oct. 24, 6:30-10 p.m. 19th Annual Oktoberfest Party The event features a buffet with all-you-can-eat traditional German and Bavarian cuisine (served until 9 p.m.). Includes everything from schnitzel to sauerkraut and spaetzle to strudel. The lively event takes place in the restaurant’s banquet rooms, which are transformed into a Bavarian-style festival hall, and all seating is open. The event also boasts a cash bar with select German draft beers and wines as well as traditional “oompah” music by the famous polka party band Bavarian Express (which may even encourage the chicken dance, as in past years). For this premiere dinner, the restaurant is partnering with Creature Comforts Brewing Co. and Three Taverns Craft Brewery. This innovative dining experience will feature six dishes from Gunshow’s team of chefs and a total of 10 beers from Creature Comforts and Three Taverns. Details.
