Omnivore - Loire Bar pop-up at the Luminary tonight

Learn about Loire Valley wines with importer Jon David Headrick at Krog Street Market

Krog Street Market restaurant the Luminary (99 Krog St., 404-600-6199. www.theluminaryatl.com) will host a pop-up called Loire Bar this evening. At the event, Jon David Headrick, an American importer specializing in wines from small wine estates in France, will present his portfolio.
? Tonight, Headrick plans to discuss 20 or so rare wines from the Loire Valley, a region centrally located at the heart of France. He was appointed a Chevalier dans l’Ordre du Merite Agricole (Order of Agricultural Merit) in 2010, one of the highest civilian awards given by the government of France to acknowledge outstanding service to French agriculture.
? Luminary chef Eli Kirshtein, fresh from a French culinary trip, will serve passed hors d’oevres and raw bar items to pair with the wine. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the door. For more information, click here. Wine tasting will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
