Sur la Table July 11-15, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Kitchen Fundamentals For Kids It’s (almost) never too early to get kids interested in cooking, and this five-day series has all of the teamwork and skill-building of the average summer camp. Little ones from age 8 to 12 will learn the basics of preparing their own food, including how to handle knives safely, measure out ingredients, perfect a pie crust, and make homemade pastas and sauces. At the end of the week, students will put their skills to the test in a team cooking challenge. Each child will go home with a packet of the week’s recipes and a Sur La Table apron so they can continue practicing at home. Details

Canoe Fri., July 15, 6:30 p.m.  Whole Hog Beer Dinner on the River This Friday Canoe will host a pig and beer dinner on the banks of the Chattahoochee River. Chef Matthew Basford will be roasting a Georgia Ossabaw hog from Hamthropolgy, a farm featuring registered Ossabaw Island Pork from a natural, free-range, non-GMO herd.
