Life Will See You Now, the latest studio album from Jens Lekman, finds the Swedish songwriter embracing a broad spectrum of subjects and sounds to dizzying ends. Following the release of (and subsequent tour for) 2012’s uncharacteristically solemn I Know What Love Isn’t, Lekman sought to retool his approach to songwriting, making a conscious effort to look outside of himself. The result is an expert meditation on loss, discomfort, and nostalgia, delivered with Lekman’s singular wit. Despite the sometimes weighty subject matter, Life Will See You Now goes down easily with danceable, airy tracks like “What’s That Perfume That You Wear?,” a wistful take on disco and Tropicália. Rife with humor and energy, Lekman’s live performances endear and engage while providing plenty of opportunities to move your feet.

With Peter Oren. $20-$22. 8 p.m. (doors). The Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Ave. S.E. 404-522-3950. www.badearl.com.
