Notch8 hosts its largest group show to date with featured artists Amy Ashbaugh, Erin Bassett, Jack Bloom, Linda Edmonds-Lima, Josh Feigert, Peter Ferrari, Shanequa Gay and many more. Opening reception: 7 p.m., Fri., Aug. 11.

Still Dreamin

Studio No. 7 - 393 Marietta St. N.W. Atlanta, GA 30313 Free-$5. 7 p.m.

Jermaine Clark lives by the motto “stay dreamin’.” This visual artist creates large contemporary paintings that feature his motto and a unique street-art aesthetic. Clark is originally from St. Louis and cites his move to Atlanta as an integral chapter in his artistic career. Over the past seven years he has successfully established himself as a name to know in the local art scene. His solo exhibit, Still Dreamin’, will feature some of his newest work. Patrons can look forward to his staple images of red balloons, sneakers and portraits while enjoying Studio No. 7’s bar. Part of the opening will be a discussion with the Clark about his story and how his motto, faith and dreams play a constant role in his life. This will be an evening of inspiration and conversation.

WAP BASH

WAP BASH is MOCA GA’s party to celebrate the recipients of this year’s Working Artists Project Fellowship. This honor gives the chosen artists an exhibition, promotion, a studio assistant, and a major stipend to create work over the course of the year. In addition to the announcement there will be music, drinks and food.

Improv Double Header ft. Colin Mochrie and Scott Adsit

Dad’s Garage Theatre - 569 Ezzard St. S.E. Atlanta, GA 30307 $25-$50. 8 p.m.

Improv god Colin Mochrie of “Whose Line is it Anyway?” and “30 Rock“‘s own Scott Adsit will descend upon the Dad’s Garage stage for four nights of pure improvisation a total of eight sets. Mochrie will kick off the fun with two nights of the same quick wit that graced the screen for more than 200 episodes of “Whose Line.” The next weekend, Adsit, best known as the disgruntled Peter Hornberger on NBC’s “30 Rock,” will follow with two more shows. Be warned: The shows aren’t appropriate for anybody who is too young to experience adult humor and for those who who can’t appreciate it.
