For one day only, enjoy complimentary museum admission in honor of the one-year anniversary of SCAD FASH. Like the award-winning SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, Georgia, SCAD FASH serves as a teaching museum and creative resource for students of all ages and a wellspring of inspiration for visitors. Through programming that engages the university’s broad array of academic disciplines - encompassing more than 40 majors and 70 minors - SCAD FASH offers diverse exhibitions, films, installations, performances and events to enliven and inspire the greater community year-round. Each program is designed to engage and appeal to visitors with varied backgrounds and interests, from textiles and jewelry to photography and film.

Sunday In The Park at Oakland Cemetery

Many forget that Oakland Cemetery is not only a resting place for thousands, including some Atlanta mayors, but a park as well. This 40th anniversary festival started out as a way for descendants of those buried in Oakland to pay their respects, but has branched out into a public day of live music, history, crafts and remembrance.

Atlanta Ramen Fest

Pick up your chopsticks and get ready for the fourth annual Atlanta Ramen Fest. Hosted by the folks at Taiyo Ramen and Wild Heaven Beer, the event supports the Giving Kitchen, a local nonprofit providing emergency assistance to employees of the Atlanta restaurant community. Chefs from eateries like the General Muir, Beetlecat, Nakato and many others will be serving up their own interpretations of the oh-so-slurpable Japanese soup. To up the ante, artisanal ramen noodle maker Sun Noodles will be providing the noodles for each and every bowl.

Dining in the Dark

Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center - 800 Spring St. N.W. Atlanta, GA 30308 $200. 4 p.m.

Ever wonder what it’s like to eat blind? For the second year in a row, the Center for the Visually Impaired (CVI) is inviting guests to experience a sensorial meal without vision at Dining in the Dark. Three courses, designed by executive chef Damiano de Nicolo of the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, will be eaten in complete darkness to raise awareness around vision loss and funds toward CVI’s mission to improve the lives of blind people. To add another element of surprise, the meal will be served by members of the Atlanta Police Department SWAT Team, geared up with night-vision equipment. After dinner, a reception will be held to offer insight on how to engage all of the senses while talking, sitting, eating and drinking in darkness.

Working Title Playwrights presents The 24-Hour Plays

Working Title Playwrights (WTP) hosts its annual fundraiser, the Atlanta 24-Hour Play Festival. Witness an original production created by 100 artists across the Atlanta theatre community. WTP writes, rehearses and performs in only 24 hours. Twelve five-eight minute plays; 12 directors; four dramaturgs; over 45 actors; loads of volunteers for tech, costumes, props and more. Tickets sold on site will be cash or check only.
