Lifetime Classics: Dying to Belong

Atlantic Station partners with Lifetime to screen the 1997 film Dying to Belong in Central Park. Hilary Swank plays Lisa, a college freshman with hopes of joining a sorority. But when Lisa gets a taste of the hazing process and someone dies, Lisa sets out expose the sorority’s secret. Complimentary popcorn and wine will be provided.

In Victor Janson and Eugen Ill̩s’ anti-Soviet propaganda film, a young Jewish woman studying medicine creates a double life for herself at a brothel as a result of anti-Semitic restrictions in St. Petersburg. Composer, world-class klezmer fiddler and co-founder of the Grammy-winning Klezmatics Alicia Svigalis plays the film’s score live.
