Lord Raja, Deku, Chris Devoe

529 - 529 Flat Shoals Ave. S.E. Atlanta, GA 30316 $8-$10. 9 p.m.

Chester Raj Anand’s brother first taught him how to use music software at the age of 6, and his experience shows. Better known as Lord Raja, the Red Hook, New York-based electronic music producer and performer crafts swirling compositions that exude craftsmanship and clarity. On Amadeus, his most recent EP released by Ghostly International, Anand forges a kaleidoscopic web of influences into a cohesive style, as menacing 808s underpin glittering synthesizers and chopped-up vocal samples. His ability to stitch competing sounds together brings J Dilla to mind, but Anand’s focus on rhythm ensures his dizzying textures always work to keep people dancing.
