Over 30 of Chinese couturiere Guo Pei’s gowns and their exquisite footwear and accessories will be on display at a solo exhibition at SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion and Film. Alongside the gowns will be studio images and vignette-style photography of the pieces. Guo Pei’s work became more widely known in America when her Imperial yellow cape design was work by Rihanna to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Gala in 2015.

President emerita of Spelman College, Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum, discusses her frequently Googled book, Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together. Kids in school, much like adults, self-segregate. Tatum addresses the behavior as a problem and as a coping strategy for young people. Tatum emphasizes the importance of being open about race issues.
