Let’s talk about loyalty: James Comey is testifying before Senate Intelligence Committee today at 10 a.m.; it’s his first public testimony since being fired. Yesterday, he released his opening statement, and it’s a doozy full of awkwardness. Trump, Comey wrote, told him, “I need loyalty, I expect loyalty” during their first dinner in January. Comey replied, “you will always get honesty from me.” He said the president responded, “that’s what I want. Honest loyalty.”

That was fast: Accused NSA leaker Reality Winner has been indicted on a single charge of “willful retention and transmission of national defense information,” and faces 10 years in prison. She’ll plead not guilty, her lawyer says; meanwhile, she’s currently being held in Lincoln County Jail, about 40 miles from Augusta.

Do-gooders: Delta and Atlanta airport are planning to chip in on some projects to help the Flint River, which runs under Hartsfield-Jackson, and other rivers throughout the state.

Rewriting the history of mankind: Scientists have long thought homo sapiens are about 200,000 years old, but a team of researchers have discovered some fossils that indicate we’re a bit older than that. Twenty-two human fossils discovered in Morocco are thought to be about 300,000 years old.
