Fried okra and mac and cheese with deep fried shrimp rolls and chicken adobo? Absolutely! Janet’s Kitchen is opening in Atlanta on July 23, serving “soul food with a Filipino twist.” The restaurant is located in the same plaza as Community Q on Clairmont Road in Decatur.

Falafel alert! Mamoun’s, a favorite in New York for 45 years, is bringing its fast casual Middle Eastern fare to Atlanta and Athens. All we know so far is that it is coming “soon,” but we’re excited.

Fire up your Instagram. Amorino, known for their rose-shaped scoops of gelato and sorbet, is opening in the Shops Buckhead Atlanta. The Paris-based sweet shop opens this fall with a menu including gluten free flavors and cones.

To celebrate both Belgian National Day (July 21) and Independence Day, the Federal (1050 Crescent Ave.) is serving a selection of Chimay beers brewed in a Trappist monastery. The red (Premi̬re), white (Cinq Cents) and blue (Grand R̩serve) brews will be available through July. Each guest also gets a take home Chimay glass while supplies last.

Atlanta-based Farm Burger is heading west. A new grass-fed, locally sourced burger joint opens in Memphis next month. This is the second Tennessee restaurant and 10th nationwide for Farm Burger.

Monday fun day? Roswell’s Osteria Mattone (1095 Canton St.) will open on Mondays starting July 17.

In honor of National Wing Day (Sat., July 29, in case your calendar doesn’t commemorate this date), area Taco Mac locations are giving away 10 free wings for every 10 or more purchased. This deal is for dine-in eating only.

We have a sweet drink deal for you. How does 77 cents sound? In honor of Nakato’s favorite Japanese festival, Tanabata (aka the Stars Festival), the Cheshire Bridge restaurant is offering weekday drink specials through Aug. 31. To go with that 77-cent beer or sake, try the limited Tanabata roll representing star-crossed lovers. Guests can also write down wishes, a tradition of the holiday.

To mark their first anniversary and Bastille Day, Ponce City Market’s St. Germain is serving Eiffel tower cookies and French flag colored macarons throughout this coming weekend (until July 16). A portion of sales will be donated to Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Sexy Midtown spot STK (1075 Peachtree St.) has a new oyster happy hour with $1.50 oysters and clams and drink specials. The deal happens every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. with DJ tunes for slurping.

Roswell’s Foundation Social Eatery has a new menu. Chef/owner Mel Toledo added to the roster a pork cutlet banh mi, shrimp and crab dumplings and goat cheese with strawberry cheesecake, among others.

To f̻te summer’s favorite fruit, South City Kitchen Vinings has a special Tomato Jam menu. In addition to the regular menu, this one is chock full of love apple delights like tomato pie, oysters with tomato granite, tomato bisque and heirloom salad.
