Darin Givens and Matt Garbett, proprietors of urbanist blog ThreadATL, have kept their ears to the ground this election season more so than most news outlets. They’ve been shooting the breeze with mayoral hopefuls and hashing out policy plans with council contenders, in a effort to find the best-equipped pols to tackle their urbanist ambitions.

The duo recently ranked hizzoner wannabes based on interviews and questionnaires they conducted, and they endorsed a handful of city council race contestants.

Cathy Woolard scored highest among the mayoral candidate crowd, thanks to her blueprints for a more “transit-oriented” Atlanta, and ThreadATL plugged Lauren Welsh (co-founder of ThreadATL), Jason Dozier, and Brionte McCorkle as its picks for Atlanta Council Districts 2, 4, and 11 respectively.

Take a peek at Givens’ and Garbett’s assessment of the lot, and don’t forget to check out the footage of their back-and-forths with the municipal candidates.
