That’s art-tastic!: Artists Fabian Williams, Yoyo Ferro and Peter Ferrari along with business owner/activist Grant Henry, and lawyers Gerry Weber and Zach Greenmyre were recognized by ArtsATL’s Luminary Awards for their work fighting against the city’s proposed mural regulations. They’re the recipients of this year’s Catalyst Award for Social Discourse.

In case you’re boycotting the NFL because Colin Kaepernick was blackballed: On Sunday, Falcons players Grady Jarrett and Dontari Poe took a knee after our draft-dodging president made some harsh statements alluding to Kaepernick taking a knee during the national anthem. Meanwhile, Falcons owners Arthur Blank linked arms with the rest of the players and issued a statement saying, in short, “Not cool, Donny. Not cool.”

Concise but effective: Someone left a poignant message on the Confederate monument in Decatur Square Friday evening: “Fuck this.”

Desperate times call for desperate measures: In a last-ditch effort to make health care reform happen, lawmakers behind the most recent bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act are trying to entice the senators who put the nail in the coffin on the last one by throwing their states some extra money.
