What’s this? What’s this? It’s Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas with a live accompanying soundtrack performed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra! (That first part was a movie reference — stick with me.) On Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 at the Woodruff Arts Center, the ASO will perform the score from this cult-favorite film as the movie itself plays on screen for a totally unique and memorable viewing experience that’s delightfully seasonal to boot.

“Fans of Tim Burton will converge in costume in Symphony Hall this Halloween to enjoy Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performing the score live,” says Tammy Hawk, director of communications for the ASO. “Last year we had great success with Danny Elfman’s Music From the Films of Tim Burton, so we’re excited to continue this Halloween tradition and look forward to a great night of film and music — along with some very creative costumes.” The special event will be conducted by Stuart Chafetz and, as Hawk says, donning a costume is encouraged.

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Original Film with ASO. $27-$59. 8 p.m. Fri.-Sat., Oct. 28-29. Symphony Hall at Woodruff Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree St. N.E. 404-733-4900. atlantasymphony.org.
