2016 Taste of Atlanta

Taste of Atlanta returns. This weekend, the 15th annual festival welcomes hometown chef G. Garvin as its featured presenter

Once again, the finest talent from around the Southeast prepares to descend upon Midtown’s Tech Square for Taste of Atlanta. The annual festival kicks off with a local culinary blowout hosted by Nick Melvin of Venkman’s on Fri., Oct. 21 at the 5th Street bridge and Williams Street. Almost two dozen chefs, representing Dub’s Fish Camp, Buttermilk Kitchen, Honeysuckle Gelato, One Eared Stag, Noble Fin, and many others will create dishes inspired by the greatest hits of the past 15 years. Proceeds will benefit Georgia Organics.

On Saturday, you can sample dishes from CL Best of Atlanta winner the Global Grub Collective at the Chef’s Table stage, learn how to grill at the Big Green Egg stage, make sweet Halloween treats with Sprinkles Cupcakes and witness future culinary stars during a kids’ cooking competition at the Family Food Zone, and watch top chefs demo how to make cluckin’ good fried chicken at the Kitchen Workshop.

The final day will feature more chef demos and tasting, but the main event will be Atlanta native chef G. Garvin’s return to the Taste of Atlanta stage. Garvin, the 2016 Featured Presenter is a James Beard Award nominee, started out as a line cook at the Ritz-Carlton Downtown.
