Seu Jorge pays tribute to David Bowie
Musical star of ‘The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou’ revisits “Rebel Rebel,” “Life on Mars?,” and more
Shimmering among the joy of the oddly cast ensemble featured in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou were the beautiful vignettes of Seu Jorge singing covers of David Bowie classics. As the sailor dos Santos, Jorge’s Portuguese versions of songs such as “Rebel Rebel” and “Life on Mars?” even impressed Bowie with the new level of beauty which Jorge renders each song. Bowie’s passing earlier this year was a sign of a rough road ahead in 2016, and Jorge’s gorgeous reinterpretations, all while wearing Team Zissou garb, will be a touching tribute to an artist who moved so many.
