Sandler Hudson Gallery presents P. Seth Thompsonbs seventh solo exhibition, Insufficient Data for an Image, an examination of truth and its relationship to mass media and technology. Altering images of modern-day references and figures in Adobe Photoshop, Thompson highlights bimagesb as commodified symbols, illuminating how they shape American cultural ideology. Rendering observation an act of passive consumption of consumerist agendas, the new body of work serves to portray objective reasoning through the lens of capitalism. Against a backdrop of balternative factsb and vying media outlets, the show is sure to be an edifying experience. Thompsonbs work is featured in the permanent collections of Sir Elton John, the High Museum of Art and the Fulton County Arts Council.

Directed by Shannon Carroll, the six-minute film follows one woman’s path out of poverty in rural Niger through a savings group. She’s made the first moves, but will her granddaughter follow in her steps? Presented by CARE, the nonprofits employees will be in attendance to discuss the making of the film and opportunities presented by virtual reality filmmaking.
