Grant Park May 20, 2017, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Atlanta Margarita + Taco Fest Join in a day of eating, drinking and South of the border style merriment with Food-O-Rama. Local eateries El Azteca, Tin Lizzybs, On The Border, Letbs Taco Bout It and others will partake in a friendly taco competition. Ten margarita bars will serve up a range of different flavors. Invite your family, bring your boo-thang; there is even a Kidzone full of inflatables along with an artist market, live music, and other food options like queso and guac to keep your spirits high. Entry is free for all with a $6 wristband for drinkers age 21+. A dollar from each wristband will go toward the Africa Yoga Project. Details

CineBistro, Copper Coin Coffee, HobNob Tavern, Luckybs Burger & Brew and many others will present to help raise money for the LifeLine Animal Project, Atlanta’s largest organization supporting animal welfare and no-kill shelters. The Adams Center May 20, 2017, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Community Painting Day The City of Clarkston’s artistic community is putting the final touches on their newest piece of public art, the Clarkston Human Family Forest Mural. All painting supplies will be provided at no charge and the Refuge Coffee Co. will be serving refreshments throughout the event. The all-woman drumming ensemble, Atlanta ConunDRUMS, will entertain painters of all ages with performances of African rhythms and music. This event is an opportunity to honor community diversity, which will be proudly displayed in the completed mural. Details

Holeman and Finch Public House May 20, 2017, noon to May 21, 2017 2 a.m. Gypsy Chef Series Holeman and Finch will premiere a new series, “Gypsy Chef Weekend,” a bi-monthly event celebrating chef collaboration and support. This weekend, chef Trey Rayburn, formerly of The Branded Butcher in Athens, will join Holeman and Finch chef de cuisine Spencer Gomez to serve four of Rayburnbs original dishes in addition to the pub’s usual menu. The event will begin with a journey by foot or by bike through Virginia-Highland, led by foraging experts who will teach ramblers how to find and identify 10+ varieties of fruit trees. Then, everyone will head to Orpheus Brewing for a kid-friendly celebration featuring old-timey carnival games, raffles and brewery tours with seven five-ounce tastings for the grown-ups.
