DOUBLE, DOUBLE: Bocado celebrates eight years with half-off burgers.

Chef Scott Serpas of Serpas True Food is opening a BBQ joint in Brookhaven at 2524 Caldwell Rd. The Louisiana native’s new spot, Dixie Q, will dish up traditional Southern BBQ with New Orleans flavors.

There’s a new spot for fried shrimp and crab boils in Northlake. Crazy Crab Seafood House opened this week at 4073 LaVista Rd. The location formerly housed Red Bowl Asian Bistro.

Grab a macaron or a macaroon in an updated space. Westside’s Amelie’s French Bakery and Caf̩ (840 Marietta St. NW) is redecorated and ready for a grand re-opening today, Oct. 6.

Pop-up for a cause! Empire State South hosts Fuerza Mexico this Sun., Oct. 8 from 12 p.m. until food runs out. A $45 donation gets you all-you-can-eat and one drink. 100 percent of the proceeds benefit Los Topos, Mexico’s volunteer rescuers.

For October, Pine Street Market doesn’t mess around with pumpkin spice; it adds wild game to the roster. Each week, expect various game meats in addition to butcher Rusty Bowers’ hand-picked selections. This week’s bounty includes duck and pork belly crepinettes, orange whiskey boar sausage, and lamb merguez.

There’s a new Bangladeshi spot in town. Ruchi Bangladeshi Cuisine, whose owner Amit Shapta is only 22 years old, opened last month at 4847 Peachtree Rd. in Chamblee. The menu includes both Indian and Bangladeshi favorite like tandoori, kababs and biriyani. We are interested in the house specialty chicken with ripe mango sauce and yogurt.

Buckhead’s Buttermilk Kitchen is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a special Monday brunch. This means chef Suzanne Vizethan’s famous chicken biscuit will be available all day Mon., Oct. 9, 8 a.m. -2 p.m.

Results are in from last weekend’s 4th Annual Ramen Fest, benefitting The Giving Kitchen. Eight Sushi Lounge (930 Howell Mill Rd.) won first place with their lobster and cream ramen. Decatur’s Double Dragon came in second and Alma Cucina was third. The slurp fest was held Sun., Oct. 1 at American Spirit Works’ Stave Room and hosted by Taiyo Ramen and Wild Heaven Beer.
