Dark Side of the Room

The Dark Side of The Room improv show takes a classic movie (i.e. Jaws, Star Wars) and improvise the stories of what the black people were doing during that movie. The show is about celebrating the diversity in improv and comedy. Let’s face it Atlanta is about the only place in the world we could pull off something this fun.

Home Brew Festival 2017

7 Stages - 1105 Euclid Ave. N.E. Atlanta, GA 30307 Free. 8 p.m.

Today begins the first day of the Home Brew festival, where guests can enjoy beer and a bevy of staged readings from Atlanta theatre makers at this theatre festival. Visitors can look forward to complimentary beer from local breweries, as well as a variety of performances and guest artist workshops over the course of the festival. Today’s festivities include Mark Kendall presenting Black History Hour.

Into the Woods

Act3 Productions presents Stephen Sondheim’s fractured fairy tale, Into the Woods. Find out what happens when an ambivalent Cinderella, a bloodthirsty Little Red-Riding Hood, and a charming prince with a roving eye all get their wish.

Furkids Paws for Cocktails

Park Tavern - 500 10th St. N.E. Atlanta, GA 30309. $45. 5:30 p.m.

Furkids Animal Rescue & Shelters, Georgia’s largest no-kill shelter, presents Paws for Cocktails as a fundraiser to benefit assisting the thousands of homeless pets in Atlanta. The Line 6 band will perform, a variety of food will be available and silent auction will take place. Each ticket includes one drink ticket.

Imagine Art Opening and Reception

Ferney Coy, a graffiti artist from Bogota, Columbia, presents his latest works at the opening reception of exhibition “Imagine.” His works combine various methods and media to create psychedelic, brightly colored “alien like panoramas.”
