A large part of what makes Atlanta so unique is the city’s vast array of rich and tightly-knit Do-It-Yourself communities. Whether you are interested in music, painting, poetry, or some other form of art, Atlanta has a supportive and populated scene catered to your interest. And what better way to celebrate than a festival combining many of Atlanta’s popular DIY scenes and artists? Create Your Own Culture: A Rose Library DIY Celebration aims to do just that. The festival will feature art exhibits, poetry readings, T-shirt printing, and more local expression, and the Atlanta-based post-punk outfit Uniform will also be performing a set. This free festival celebrates many of the aspects that make Atlanta such a community-driven city, and is sure to be an event you won’t want to miss.

Free. 3/1/2016. 6:30 p.m. Emory Visual Arts Department and Gallery. 700 Peavine Creek Dr, Atlanta, Georgia 30322
