Ever wondered about the in and outs of being vegetarian? Lucky for you, the Black Vegetarian Society of Georgia, a nonprofit organization that promotes a meat-free way of life, is hosting the largest annual vegetarian food fair in Atlanta. MEATOUT: Vegetarian and Wholistic Health Fair will teach guests about the benefits of a plant-based diet (and how to make it delicious!), while also addressing chronic and degenerative diet-related diseases that disproportionately affect the African-American community. Chef Shantelle Gary and chef Zu of King’s Apron will teach guests how to whip up a raw berry fruit cobbler and a raw sun-fired lasagna. Also on the docket are panel discussions, stalls from vegan restaurants, a bodywork pavilion, and demonstrations by chef Duece Osanyin, the Plantbased Princess, and chef Nikki in the Mix.

Sun., March 18. $10-$15. 2-7 p.m. Atlanta Metropolitan State College, 1630 Metropolitan Pkwy 404-585-1043. bvsga.org.
