Bill Frisell’s versatility on the guitar covers such a wide spectrum that he can be pretty tough to categorize. From his wild work with John Zorn’s Naked City to his more traditional jazz trios (featuringluminaries such as Dave Holland and Elvin Jones), up to his experiments with country and surf music, Frisell’s career has traveled along a highway of musical achievements. His latest stop finds him in a trio setting with Thomas Morgan on bass and Rudy Royston on drums. The group’s approach to Americana has a singularly dreamy, jazzy quality to it, performing both original compositions and covers, including a fine version of “Goldfinger.”

$25-35. Wed., April 4. 8 p.m. City Winery, 650 North Avenue NE #201. 678-399-7020. www.citywinery.com/atlanta.
