BUY MORE MUSIC: Record Store Day goes down on Sat., April 21

On Saturday, April 21, Criminal Records celebrates Record Store Day 2018 with a full lineup of in-store performances, appearances, giveaways, and a block party.

The doors open at 10 a.m. to get the marathon of shoppers who’ve camped out since the wee hours moving through the door. The goal: Scoop up as many of the day’s limited edition releases as this year’s tax return check will allow. If you snatch up a copy of Run the Jewels’ limited edition “Kill Your Masters” b/w “Stay Gold” collectors box set, it’s your lucky day. A proof-of-purchase wristband comes with the release, serving as your golden ticket to a 2 p.m. in-store signing with this year’s Record Store Day Ambassadors Killer Mike and El-P.

After the signing, Duet for Theremin and Lap Steel play live at 3 p.m., garage-soul rocker Curtis Harding plays at 4 p.m., psych-rock trio Midnight Larks are on at 5 p.m. And last, but not least, Organized Noize hosts a signing session celebrating the release of a brand new 12-inch, titled “We The Ones” feat. Big Boi, Cee Lo Green, Big Rube, and Sleepy Brown.

Rico Wade, Ray Murray, and Sleepy Brown will be on hand for the record signing.

The outdoor block party will be in full-effect as well.

Criminal Records is located at 1154 Euclid Ave NE. 404-215-9511. www.criminalatl.com.
