BURGER BONANZA: Marcel's burger pop-up is back on Fri., May 25

B’s Cracklin BBQ (2061 Main St ) is serving up more than Bryan Furman’s whole hog pit roasted barbecue on Sat., May 12. From noon to 5 p.m. the Riverside restaurant is throwing down with a crawfish boil, ice cream, blacksmith demonstrations, and live music.


Haven’t found the perfect Mother’s Day gift yet? Here’s a good one. Decatur’s White Bull (123 East Court Square) has monthly pasta classes. Chef Pat Pascarella gives each guest an apron, a recipe card, a glass of bubbles, and guides them into pasta making for 2 hours. Guests take home all of their pasta. His next classes are 6/30 and 7/21.


Decatur’s Smoke & Duck Sauce (2641 N. Decatur Rd.) is revamping. Tonetoatl.com reports the new sushi concept will be called Tabi Sushi.


Roswell’s Table & Main is extending its hours for the arrival of summer. From June 1 - Aug. 31 the front dining room, patio, and porch will open for service at 4 p.m.


Chef Ron Hsu’s (Le Bernadin) Lazy Betty, opening later this year in Poncey-Highland, is throwing preview dinners before opening. Pop-up tickets are going fast for the multi-course dinners with wine pairings will be held at the culinary venue at Highland Inn. Click here to sign up.


Buckhead’s Saltyard is under new ownership. Lee Schulman (Old Vining Inn) has taken over the space. Chef/owner Nick Leahy will now focus on his forthcoming restaurants AIX and Tin Tin in The Stockyards development at 976 Brady Ave.


King + Duke is turning 5 and celebrating Sat., May 19. Executive chef E.J. Hodgkinson will have passed bites, grilled skewers, and raw and grilled oysters. Beer, wine, and specialty cocktails will be available at a cash bar. Merriment happens from 4-7 p.m. Secure your spot here for free tickets.


Just in time for Mother’s Day, Buckhead’s 1Kept has launched Sunday brunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Think chicken and waffles, craft cocktails, and a build your own Aperol spritz station.


100,000 cheers to SweetWater Brewery. They are donating $100,000 from sales of their new variety pack, “Protect Natural Habitats,” to five partnering organizations: Ducks Unlimited, Waterkeeper Alliance, Trout Unlimited, CCA’s Building Conservation and Trust, and Bonefish and Tarpon Trust.

Gino’s East of Chicago is replacing Rize Artisan Pizza this summer in Poncey-Highland (675 N. Highland Ave.).


Ponce City Market’s City Winery is bringing something extra to the table this May to pair with its locally made wine. Forager’s Feast, a farm-to-table menu, runs all month with weekly specials of locally harvested goodies.
Savi Provisions is now open in Decatur at the former Cook’s Warehouse Space with a large selection of prepared foods, grab-and-go meals, beer and wine.
