Martin Bisi

For 35 years Martin Bisi has served as a hidden persuader, influencing the shape of modern underground music. From Herbie Hancock’s 1983 dance floor hit “Rockit,” to early Sonic Youth, Swans, Unsane, Foetus, Cop Shoot Cop, and more, his influence as a producer remains ubiquitous. On the heels of releasing BC35, Bisi and a team of longtime cohorts including Genevieve Fernworthy (viola, keys, vocals), Ernest Anderson (bass), and Dave Miller (drums), plow through a set of all new material recorded live at his Gowanus Park-based BC Studio — some composed, some improvised — that pushes Bisi’s abrasive and artfully confrontational sound to deeper and higher levels of harsh and opulent synesthesia.

With Xambuca. $10. 9 p.m. Fri., June 8. The Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Ave. S.E. 404-522-3950. www.badearl.com.
