SUMMER SHRED: Power Komany, headliners of AthFest 2017

Summer in Athens means sweltering heat, sticky humidity, and the art and music community’s biggest event of the year —AthFest. Three days of art and outdoor music are free, but for $30, guests can purchase a wristband to attend a two-night Club Crawl across Athens, enjoying local food and several wristband-only venues. Country and Latin music showcases will be featured for the first time ever, alongside other homegrown talents that have earned AthFest its place as one of the Top 10 Summer Music Festivals on Livability.com, and a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society. Whether it’s a wristband, art inspired by Graham Shirley, the groovy Athens-bred event theme artist, too much beer at Terrapin Beer Co., or all of the above, guests can feel good about where their money is going. The event is hosted by AthFest Educates, an organization dedicated to sustaining and advancing music and arts education for young people across Athens-Clarke County.

Free-$30. Various times. Fri.-Sun., June 22-24 Downtown Athens, 285 W. Washington St.. www.athfest.com.
