ICE COLD: What’s cooler than being cool?

Autumn promises a reprieve from the hot, humid Georgia summer and welcomes pre-holiday shopping opportunities. Founded by Shannon Mulkey Green and Christy Petterson, Indie Craft Experience Fall Market returns for another year. ICE features more than 60 craft and vintage vendors (compared to last year’s mere 50), a variety of local food vendors, and music by DJ Zano. Several booths will display art of different mediums — such as Anjel Creations floral and butterfly works, Dani Ferraro’s ink creations, Katie Troisi’s comforting pottery, and more. They say the early bird gets the worm — be one of the first 100 guests and receive a complementary swag bag. Last year’s swag bags proudly displayed the infamous half-dog, half-squid hybrid design by local artist Squishiepuss. This year, Tracy Wagner of Tweet Design is designing the take-home bags. So what if this wretched summer heatwave continues to hold our sweaty human bodies hostage? At least a little shopping can help numb the pain. Especially if it’s also showing local vendors some lovin’.

Free-$5. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sun., Sept. 9. YAARAB Temple, 400 Ponce de Leon Ave. N.E. http://www.ice-atlanta.com/.
