SARAH HENNIES

Bent Frequency opens its 2018-19 series AMPLIFY! with a Sarah Hennies Portrait Concert. The program includes two long-form pieces by Hennies, “Live Fleas” (with the composer featured on vibraphone) and “Everything Else,” enigmatically described by the composer as “a composition for four or more performers.” Hennies is probably best known for performing with fellow percussionists Tim Feeney and Greg Stuart in the trio Meridian and as the former drummer for Austin-based the Weird Wheels. Her highly experimental solo work rummages in the realm of psychoacoustic phenomena using non-standard percussion and performance regimens.

Free. 7:30 p.m. Fri., Oct. 12. Kopleff Recital Hall, Georgia State University, 15 Gilmer St SE. 404-413-5900.
