Cobb County still subsidizing the Braves

Atlanta Headlines March 15, 2019

Cobb County is still subsidizing the Atlanta Braves according to a report by the AJC. The County is paying less this year than last, with a loss of $5.8 million in 2018. The AJC also reports that the Braves had a nice uptick in profits during a similar period with a reported profit of $94 million.

County officials believe such trends are heading in the right direction in terms of eventually getting the project to pay for itself. Nonetheless, pro-stadium advocates will still want to follow the broader impact of the development on the county over a longer period time.
