Mayor Bottoms says ‘No’ to ethics probe

An AJC investigative report on March 16 laid out questions about Mayor Bottoms putting campaign staffers on the payroll before she was sworn in. This, in turn, prompted the City Council to pass a resolution to open an investigation.
The Mayor today vetoed the City Council resolution suggesting this violated the City Charter. The City Auditor vowed to pursue this matter within the existing regulations.
