Welcome to CL’s weekend roundup podcast for March 29-31. Will Cardwell, Jacob Chisenhall, and Josh Robinson join Music Editor Chad Radford to shout out their top picks for weekend events. Turn on, tune in, go out!

Fri., Mar. 29
Chuck D hosts DJ Lord’s Pisces Power Session Birthday Blow Out.
DJ Lord celebrates one more trip around the sun with the return of the annual Pisces Power Session birthday blow out. For this installment of MJQ’s Fantastic Fridays, Lord is joined on the turntables by DJs Fudge, Majestik, Hollywood Kid, and more. The evening’s regular host and “event insurance provider” Dres tha BEATnik will be on hand to keep the energy moving, with a special guest appearance from the rhyme animal Mr. Chuck D of Public Enemy and Prophets of Rage. $10. 11 p.m. MJQ Concourse.

Lightning Orchestra, Greenscreen, Konda, Safari Williams.
Lightning Orchestra is the Travis Murphy-led Fela Kuti-style afrobeat ensemble. This show also marks the debut of Greenscreen, a new band featuring Chris Yonker and Christian Ballew of Hello Ocho, Dan Bailey, Dallas Dawson, and Quinn Mason. Safari Williams also performs. $8-$10. 9 p.m. 529.

K.W.E.E.N. Women’s Showcase at North Center.
A perfect close to Women’s History Month, this Friday’s showcase celebrates Atlanta female creatives and business women, featuring vendors, DJs, poets, artists, and musicians. Live performances include East Atlanta R&B and hip-hop duo the Queendom, performance poet Muva the Creator, and more. $7-$10. 7 p.m. North Center.

Sat., Mar. 30
Live Static Zine Release Party.
A celebration for the release of the first issue of STATIC, a new local poetry zine. The event features live readings by contributors, and empanadas by Papi & Bachi. $5. 7 p.m. 529.

Michael Myerz Packard Bell 96 release party feat. Delorean Gray, Shouldies, and the Wreck Shit Club.
Read Chad Radford’s feature story, “Michael Myerz returns: With 23 albums under his belt, the Atlanta rapper looks beyond nerdcore.” $8. 9 p.m. 529.

The Temptations and the Four Tops.
Throwbacks don’t have to be restricted to Thursdays. This weekend, the Temptations and the Four Tops hit Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre for a night of Motown classics. Together, the acts have yielded timeless cuts such as “Just My Imagination” and “Ain’t No Woman Like the One I’ve Got” among many more. Both legends individually, seeing them together should be a treat. $45-$85. 8 p.m. Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

Toast & Jam: 2 Year Anniversary Show w/ Stay Here, Antarcticats, Challenger Deep, King of Summer, and Fox Wound.
Toast & Jam Studios is a Buford, GA-based independent studio that offers live recordings. Toast & Jam are true supporters of the Atlanta music scene, offering an affordable recording option to many local acts. Tragically, an electrical fire caused thousands of dollars of damage, even destroying several irreplaceable vintage instruments. In the wake of the devastating fire, this stacked bill of local favorites are joining forces to raise funds for Toast & Jam’s rebuild, as well as celebrate the studio’s two-year anniversary. 2019 Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Fest.
This storied festival features performances by the Wallflowers, Smash Mouth, the Romantics, and more. There will also be local food vendors, a car show, and an artists market. No cover. 10 a.m. Blackburn Park

Sun., Mar. 31
K Camp, Derez DeShon, Sonny Digital, True Story Gee.
While fans debate whether Soulja Boy or Tyga had the biggest comeback of 2018, K Camp bypasses the social media hype, working quietly to cement an explosive return of his own in 2019. The northside artist has been building momentum off November’s RARE Sound with a slew of promising releases such as “Calling My Spirits Freestyle,” “Switch,” and “Writing On The Wall.” Add a personal invitation to Dreamville’s Revenge of The Dreamers III recording sessions and a teased Quavo collaboration, and K Camp has an interesting year ahead of him.
